My family and I don't watch R rated movies. I don't appreciate the swearing or the unnecessary content. Call me old fashioned, but it's just vulgar and shows immaturity. I made it to page 18 of "The Girl in the Road" and have to put it down. I can deal with some swearing, but there are a number of F-bombs and the main character was talking about having casual sex with a man. I also think the main character may have been in a lesbian relationship (?), which I don't believe in (I love the people, not the choice). I can't continue even though the book seems to have a good story line and I want to see what would happen next!
I don't recommend this book. There are SO many books out there - my advice is to keep searching for another that uses imagination and creativity in their plot and vocabulary instead of sex and swearing. Thanks Blogging for Books - I'll keep reading and reviewing!
