Redeeming Love
Francine Rivers
20th Anniversary Edition
Sarah, Angel, Amanda, Tirzah…all four are one in the same. A cold, confused, hard-hearted prostitute is called out of slavery but her ‘savior’ –a man named Michael Hosea sent by God. You are invited to watch her heart melt slowly and painfully while watching her faith bloom and grow in Redeeming Love.
Francine Rivers has written a novel that is a “powerful retelling of the story of Gomer and Hosea”. I love stories that put biblical history into readable, modern day form. I did enjoy this book. At times it was repetitive and long – there were many feelings and emotions described over and over again, showing you the true heart of Angel. Near the end I was simply ready for the book to be over and sure there couldn’t be more to add to the plot (there was though, of course). I am not excited to read the biblical account of Gomer and Hosea and hopefully understand more fully the thoughts and feelings of these true characters.
