if we're having any more kids anytime soon (ours or foster children), you have not been to breakfast, lunch, or dinner at our house for the past, say, 20 months. You haven't been around after daycare days to bathe two feisty non-daycare nappers. Maybe you haven't even seen how quickly the dishes have piled up with a boy or two who choose two to three plates at one meal and a mom who can't say no to this without a twenty minute crying, screaming battle with a toddler.
We've been having some fun, I think - sometimes those fun minutes seem few and far between! Two curious, creative, mechanical boys in one house is all this mama can handle for awhile, so if you're wondering when we'll have another, you are invited over for dinner or a weekend anytime! :)
Thanks to Super Grandma and Great Aunt Mimmie moving in across the alley, we definitely have had a little more freedom and down time! It's been wonderful to see their relationships with the boys change from seeing each other on vacation to seeing each other every morning (before the sun rises), after work, before bed. We peer out the window to see who's awake, which light is on, and guess what they might be up to! Things are looking up, up, up!
The holidays are coming up quickly. With added family in town, I tend to get a little overwhelmed starting to figure out schedules and plans. I'm hoping to pray a lot, take a few deep breaths, keep my three boys in the front of my mind, and try not to please everyone. Family, if you're reading this, let's keep things simple, not go crazy on gifts, and enjoy some time together! Who's first to bake and decorate sugar cookies or gingerbread men with our little ones!?! We've got some memories to make!
